We specialize in enabling the OpenGL ES and OpenGL SC open standard graphics API in embedded devices. Our products support a range of graphics subsystems including discrete GPU, programmable GPU, SoC processors with graphics cores, and software-only graphics rendering.
Founded in 1994, ALT Software has been serving the needs of broad range of device manufacturers with a wide variety of different system requirements for well over a decade. Today, our software solutions can be found in millions of devices worldwide including smartphones, netbook computers, children’s toys, high performance luxury cars, medical imaging tools, airport security systems, naval vessels, and the most advanced commercial and military aircraft in the world.
For the avionics industry, our products include graphics display drivers certifiable to the FAA, EASA, and JAA recognized RTCA DO-178B guideline for mission and safety critical systems in aircraft. Designed from the ground up to operate reliably in the harshest conditions, these high-performance display drivers can be used in any environment where reliable performance is absolutely essential and regulatory approval is required, such as in industrial controls that require IEC 61508 SIL3 certification or FDA Class III life critical medical devices.

ALT Management Team
Darryl Parisien, President

Darryl Parisien is the President and a member of the Board of Directors of ALT Software. With over 15 years of experience in software development and professional services, Darryl is working to build upon ALT's leadership position in embedded graphics by strengthening relationships with strategic customers and partners, continuing to drive the shift from in-house development to COTS adoption, and delivering innovative products and solutions.
Prior to joining ALT, Darryl was with Certicom Corporation for 8 years of which his latest assignment was to lead the Professional Services business unit. He was able to double Professional Services revenue by focusing on delivering repeatable solutions in the embedded device, consumer electronics, broadcasting and gaming markets. Darryl was CTO of eSalveo Inc., an ASP business allowing physicians to seamlessly offer non-urgent, uninsured medical services to their patients. He also co-founded Corporate Health Solutions, which was funded by Aetna Health and provided enterprise solutions for outsourcing occupational medicine, disability management, and health promotion programs. As CIO and VP Product Development of Medcan Health Management Inc., Darryl led the design and development of various health management products to manage and mitigate escalating health and disability costs for Fortune 1000 clients. He has also held political assistant positions to the Minister of Human Resources and the Minister of National Health and Welfare.
Dan Joncas, Vice President of Sales and Marketing

Dan Joncas joined ALT Software in 2000, where he serves as the company’s Vice President of Sales. Under his strategic leadership and with his solution-selling and relationship building approach, Dan has helped ALT Software earn a place in Profit 100 as one of Canada’s fastest growing companies and establish ALT as a leading provider of embedded system software solutions. Dan has secured strategic partnerships and customer relationships with a number of world leading technology companies including BAE, Freescale, Fujitsu, GE Fanuc, Honeywell, Intel, L3 and Microsoft.
Prior to joining the ALT team, Dan has held senior positions in technology consulting, sales and professional recruitment services to various companies, some of which include Proctor and Gamble, Novartis, NOVA and Computer Sciences Corp. Dan holds an MBA in Information Technology from Athabasca University and a Masters in Education and Organizational Development from the University of Toronto.
Simon Wong, CA
Vice President of Finance

Simon Wong brings more than 18 years of financial and operations experience to his role at ALT Software. He has held senior management positions with Amp of Canada (a subsidiary of Tyco Electronics), Bombardier, KPMG, and most recently as Director of Finance at Joinview Canada Inc. (a subsidiary of Transat AT).
Over his career, Simon has been directly involved in business support, process reengineering, financial reporting and compliance. In addition, he was responsible for developing internal process efficiencies and procedures to allow transitions from privately held organizations to subsidiaries of public companies. Simon holds a bachelor of business administration and commercial studies degree from the University of Western Ontario and is a Chartered Accountant.
Steve Viggers,
Vice President of Operations and Development

Steve Viggers joined ALT Software in 1997 where he has occupied key roles including Director of Software, Vice-President of Software Engineering, and regional branch manager. He was also a Technical Project Lead at Christie Digital Systems, where he provided subject matter expertise and project management services for the advancement of digital cinema projector software & electronics. In his current role as Vice-President of Operations and Development Steve is responsible for software engineering operations and processes, project management and quality assurance. His software engineering background includes extensive hands-on development experience as well as the management of audio, video, networking, and graphics driver projects for a wide range of hardware configurations and operating systems. Under his visionary leadership ALT has become a global leader in strategic markets including aerospace and defense systems, consumer devices and industrial controls.
Mark Snyder, Vice President of Product Management

Mark Snyder’s background includes many senior roles in the embedded graphics industry. He led the development of embedded graphics software and tools at Quantum 3D and was a key architect of some of Honeywell International’s most advanced flight deck technology, used in groundbreaking aircraft such as the Dassault Falcon F7X and Gulfstream V. He served as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Air Force, culminating with a position as a research scientist at the Air Force Research Lab at Kirtland AFB, New Mexico. Mr. Snyder is a noted industry expert and frequent author and speaker on topics affecting the embedded multimedia industry. He holds a Masters degree in Computer Science from the Air Force Institute of Technology in Dayton, Ohio, and is named inventor on 10 patents in the area of human-machine interface and digital moving map technology.
Robert Atkinson, Director of Sales

Robert spent five years as Aerospace Engineering officer for the CF-18 program at Canadian Air Forces Bases throughout North America and Europe. After leaving the Air Force, Rob spent 7 years at Engenuity Technologies occupying various positions including Director of Business Development and Marketing. Rob has a Bachelor's degree in engineering from the Royal Military College of Canada, as well as a MBA from McGill University specializing in Finance and International Business.
